PINE MOUNTAIN VISTA - OVERLOOK

The slopes below comprise the Upper Kiamichi River Wilderness. Pine Mountain is the most noticeable landscape feature in the foreground. The Kiamichi River begins its flow west in the small valley visible at the foot of Pine Mountain. Flowing west through the Kiamichi Valley, the river eventually turns south meeting the Red River at the Texas- Oklahoma border.

The headwaters of the Mountain Fork River form on the opposite side of Pine Mountain. It flows south to the Little River, which flows into the Red River at the Arkansas -Texas border. The Kiamichi Mountains are across the valley beyond Pine Mountain.
