SUNSET POINT VISTA - OVERLOOK

Located at the west end of Rich Mountain and facing west, this is a great place on the Talimena Scenic Drive to enjoy a sunset.

This is also one of the best places along the drive to observe special rock formations commonly known as "rock glaciers". These rivers of rocks and boulders are visible on slopes of distant mountains. "Rock Glaciers" can be observed up close just to the west and to the east along the drive. These rocky rivers provide habitat for special plants and animals, some found nowhere else in the world.

FOREST SERVICE ROAD 6068

This road is fairly rough. Travel at your own risk. Traveling down Rich Mountain enjoy quiet, peaceful forests and several vistas along the way. The road ends at Highway 259.
